About Us

How it all began...

The CEO and Founder, Samantha Blickensderfer, has had small animals for over a decade. From rabbits and guinea pigs, to hamsters and ferrets, she's had it all. So when a friend came to her in 2017, asking her to take in two sweet piggies, she couldn't refuse. It quickly sparked something much more, and in April of 2018, These Little Guineas was born. It started with just guinea pigs, but quickly grew as the word got out.

In just under a year, we have rescued well over 100 guinea pigs, 4 hamsters, and even a bunny! Our adoption process is incredibly thorough, and we have only ever had FOUR returns since we opened. We are now working on expanding to a new and permanent facility to allow our organization to grow!
